Sharon grew up on a farm in CT and always felt a bond with animals, large and small, domestic and wild. She received a BA cum laude in Classics from Duke University and studied Latin American Literature at the graduate level. Sharon worked in the Dept. of Medicine at Duke counseling patients for many years and studied a number of Complementary Healing Modalities including: Plant Spirit Medicine, herbs, homeopathy, flower essences, subtle energy field healing and acupuncture. She had a practice in Holistic Healing for Animals for six years.

Sharon has been involved with a number of environmental groups and has volunteered or spent time in a variety of animal settings: The North Carolina Museum of Life and Science, The NCSU School of Veterinary Medicine, Spring Farm Animal Rescue in Clinton, NY and The Woods Hole Aquarium in Woods Hole, MA. She is active in nonprofit activities in Durham and Chapel Hill.
 
Sharon has communicated with dogs, cats, horses, cattle, pigs, goats, sheep, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, ducks, geese, owls, birds, lions and seals. She has come to trust her ability to communicate with animals. She welcomes the opportunity to work with animals of all kinds.
